Andrew Kato

Research

A primary question that drives my research interests is how scalarity and gradability inform the interpretation of context-sensitive content. To this end, I currently look at topics relevant to degree semantics, including proportional quantification, gradable modality, and plurality inferences.

I'm also engaged in ongoing experimental work under Pranav Anand and Allison Nguyen on decision bias in the information associated with discourse referents.
